Cash in Lieu

Effective January 1, 2020, the Douglas County Cafeteria Plan (the “Plan”) adopted this Eligible Opt-Out Arrangement as a Benefit Option under the Plan. The Cash in Lieu (CIL) allows eligible participants to decline the County’s medical insurance benefit under the group medical plan and receive a monthly cash payment of $400 in lieu of coverage. This will be paid each pay period. Eligibility to participate in this program requires providing proof of coverage complying with the Affordable Care Act. This option excludes those covered by the Central States Health Plan, as it is not a Douglas County funded plan.
